WHO WE ARE
TeemNow is currently a social enterprise project focused on a mission of helping business people grow their businesses across borders and internationally using the latest social networking technologies.
We are a group of business professionals that have served in various roles to help companies expand into new international markets. The work has been exciting, rewarding and filled with challenges and opportunities to build new relationships and make new friends.
THE PROBLEM
It can be expensive and time consuming to understand the issues and make the dozens of decisions needed to get established in new markets.
From determining the right regions to hiring local talent, the devil is in the details. Each region has its own market conditions and regulations to consider. Local regulations on incorporation, taxes, employment law, data protection, money laundering, and anti-bribery to name just a few, can be challenging to understand and navigate.
There are currently thousands of resources available to help, some fantastic, some good, and some not so good. There are government and academic trade resources, import/export expertise, regional communities, Wikipedia, your local library, law and accounting firms, the World Bank, the World Economic Forum, trade educators, and so on. The more you look, the more you find. None are specifically focused on exactly what you need in a form you can use, that completely applies to your current project.
But what’s good? Where do you start? What can you rely on as current and applicable to your situation?
THE SOLUTION
We have found that a conversation with one or more like-minded business people, that have already established interests in a target market, can save time, effort, and money.
Learning about the best locations, which registrations to make, how much time the processes require, lease details, and the most advantageous vendors was invaluable. We also learned that people that had experience in doing these things were very happy to share, as we were. The challenge was finding the right person, and then having the resources to make a conversation productive and enjoyable by all involved. That’s where the TeemNow concept was born.
Better informed means better results!
We are engaging the growing community of international business expansion people with a new platform focused on this mission.
We want to help this community build and promote relationships and expertise as they learn about what is required to be successful in new regions and cultures outside their own; to build a body of knowledge that can be easily updated, verified, and shared; to set standards that can make the job more easily scalable and repeatable for rapid growth; to develop a platform that has a growing set of tools and features; to build partnerships with the business facilitators in key functional areas, such as law, accounting, audit, tax, and employment to name a few.
We would love to hear your ideas!
